Calico Bamboo Handled Pottery Teapot

This is a unique, beautiful, bamboo handled Tea Pot with the Calico glaze. (Click on pic above for larger view). Each Tea Pot holds about one quart. These are high-fired, stoneware pieces (2300 + degrees, Cone 10) for maximum durability. Each piece is lead free and food safe. As with all hand crafted pottery the coloring and size will vary from piece to piece, making each piece a one-of-a-kind. Care Instructions: These stoneware teapots are for steeping tea only. You would use a metal or pyrex tea kettle on the stove for boiling the water. Then pour the boiled water in the stoneware teapot with the tea for steeping and serving. Stoneware teapots can be cleaned by hand with soap or in a dishwasher.

Our potter, Mayra, is a west coaster, making pottery for over 20 years. "As well as designing and handcrafting each piece I also formulate the glazes. In respect to the glazes I love that which is reminiscent of rock; the surface and the colors, while still being functional, and that which feels good to the touch while in use."
